MY LUNCH NO.16 ( FESTIVAL MENU )







Festival lunch for Tamil New Year and Vishu  at my home is mostly an amalgam of dishes from both sides owing to my Palakkad origin and therefore the Sadya lunch as we call the elaborate spread of dishes has delicacies from both states. I try to stretch as much as possible and this year it has been better with more additions but my dream of a sumptuous banana leaf menu is yet to be fulfilled,. Meanwhile here is a list of some of the dishes you can try either for Tamil New Year or for Vishu.



The Menu:

Manga/ Mango pachadi with neem flowers tempering.

Snakegourd kootu ( method same as cabbage molagootal )

Potato fry ( with jeera optional )

Avarakai/ beans parup usili.

Pumpkin Mor kuzhambu

Capsicum araithuvitta sambar

Neem flower rasam

Carrot pachadi.

Semiya kheer/Vermicelli
