One of the most delicious and healthy ways to have Moong sprouts or Green gram sprouts is to make a cold chilled dip, , raita as we call it which is the perfect companion for earthy flatbreads like Bajra rotlas/ rotis, jowar Bhakris or even phulkas.
1 cup Green gram sprouts ( Moong sprouts )
1 tbsp chopped green chillis
1/2 tsp cracked pepper
Pinch of asfoetida powder
Salt to taste.
1 cup of fresh thick yogurt., whisked
1 tbsp chopped cilantro.
1/2 tsp red chilly powder( optional )
Cook the moong sprouts till just about softened, dont overcook, use a steamer if possible.
Then when cooled, mix all the ingredients and serve chilled.
Ad a sprinkle of red chilly powder if you wish .
