Salads are great way to satisfy small hunger pangs and it is during such hunger pangs that I prefer to make some bowl of grated carrots and finely shredded cabbage into a tasty filling salad.
1 cup finely grated red carrots or the regular orange ones.
1 cup finely shredded cabbage.
2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro.
1 tsp finely choppe dgreen chillis.
A small pinch of asafoetida.
Salt to taste .
1/2 tsp mustard seeds.
1 tsp oil.
1 tbsp lime juice.
In a pan first ad the oil, splutter the mustard seeds, add the green chillis, and pour this seasoning over the finely chopped cabbage and grated carrots, add salt, pinch of asafoetida powder.
Add the cilantro for garnishing, add some lime juice if you wish.
This simple but delicious crunchy salad makers a great spicy , tangy salad.
