Walnut Crumb Coffee Cake With Plum Apple Coulis


This is a delicious moist easy walnut crumb coffee cake adapted from Betty Crocker.

INGREDIENTS FOR WALNUT STREUSEL CRUMB TOPPING



1/3 Cup of pancake mix
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/3 cup broken walnuts or any nuts of your choice for the steusel topping
2 tbsp unsalted butter

Ingredients:


2 Cups pancake mix
2/3 cup milk or water
2 tbsp sugar
1 cup yougurt or enough to bring the batter together to a cake batter consistency.

Make the walnut streusel topping by mixing the topping ingredients well till they resemble crumbs.
keep this aside

Take a 9 inch round pan or square cake tin ,grease well.

Mix the ingredients for the coffee cake batter well and pour into the cake tin.
Gently tap the cake tin to spread the bater and then sprinkle the streusel toppin all over the cake batter on the top

In a already preheated oven of around 350 F ,bake the cake batter for around 15 to 25 minutes.
check for a golden brown top and test with a skewer.

Plum Apple Coulis

I added this to increase the flavour of the coffee cake.This is optional.
cut some plums and apples finely and cook them like stew with brownsugar and a pinch of nutmeg or allspice powder.Decide on the consistency of the coulis you want like a sauce and cool and keep aside.Pour on the cake slice while serving.
